Our Categories Unlike most shows you can select one of these specific categories to enter: Animation, Books, Comics, Picture Books, Sci-Fi and Illustration.
Our Prizes Best of Show winner receives a $1,500 cash prize in US dollars. Gold medal winners receive a 3x3 Collective Premium Membership ($850-cash value). Winners will be promoted on social media.
The Annual All medal and merit winners will be featured in our full-color, 400+ page Annual and online gallery. The Annual is distributed each December. Art directors receive a free link to our Annual.
Gary Powell Student Award All student winners are finalists for our special student award. The winner receives a $1,000 cash award and a two-page feature in the Annual.
Eligibility Open to all students in all countries for non-commissioned illustration projects produced prior to the show deadline of March 28, 2025. As long as you were enrolled in an art school, college or university in 2024–2025 you are eligible to enter this show. Self-generated projects are accepted as well.
There is no specific theme for this year’s show. All mediums will be considered. We do not accept AI-generated artwork.
You may also enter your unpublished work in our Professional Show under the Unpublished or Gallery category.
If you have commissioned work, you must enter that work in the applicable category in our Professional Show.
