Our shows are complete for this year. Thanks to everyone for entering and to the winners, job well done. Our next competition will be in February 2009 and our annual with this year's winners will be available at the end of this year.

Congratulations to the winners!

The judges have made their decision, the votes have been tallied and the results are in. Out of nearly 4,000 entries we'll have 200 winners exhibited in the annual.

Voting was tough as always but as always the judges were unanimous in their selections for the top winners. To be accepted into the show, your work must have received a majority of the judge's votes. Unlike many shows there were no really poor entries so that made it even tougher for the judges to cast their votes.

To receive a medal in our show an entry must have had more than a majority of judges vote for the piece as well as having one or more judges list it as their favorite. Our Best of Show winner received more than the majority of votes as well as a majority of the judge's favorites votes. Not every category warranted a medal based on our criteria.

* multiple accepted entries

So if you're one of the winners you should be very proud, if your work didn't make it in this year's show, it's not because it isn't good, it just means it's a tough show.

Thank you to the judges and for all who entered.

The results are in and our international panel of judges have made their decisions on the largest 3x3 Student Show to date. More entries. Fewer winners. Tough judges. Tough decisions. Tough show. If you're a winner it means your work was exceptional.

Judging was tough but fair. Based on a 4.0 grading system each judge was asked to rate each entry on a scale from 0 to 4, 4 being the top score. For Merit winners, five of the eight judges had to rank the piece with a rating of 3 or better; for medal winners six or more out of the eight judges had to rate the piece either a 3 or 4. But as always the voting for medals was nearly unanimous. Medal and Merit winners will be displayed in the 3x3 Illustration Annual No. 5 due out later this year. Winners will be notified to collect credits for the winning entries. Congratulations to all.
